If you’ve ever thought about trying CrossFit but felt a little (or a lot) intimidated—you’re not alone.
In fact, it’s one of the most common things we hear:
“I need to get in shape before I start.”
“Everyone there is probably already really fit.”
“I don’t even know what half the movements are.”
Let’s clear something up right away:
CrossFit isn’t specifically designed for people who are already in great shape. It’s designed to get you in shape.
From the outside, CrossFit can look intense. You might see people lifting heavy weights, doing pull-ups, or moving quickly through workouts. It’s easy to assume you need to be at that level to even walk through the door.
But what you’re seeing is just one version of the workout—not the only version.
Every workout we do is designed to be scalable.
That means:
Whether you haven’t worked out in years or you’ve been active your whole life, the workout meets you where you are.
For example:
Everyone in the room is doing the same workout, just at their own level.
One of the biggest misconceptions is that CrossFit is competitive in a way that feels overwhelming.
The reality? It’s one of the most supportive fitness environments you’ll find.
You’ll quickly realize that the person next to you isn’t judging you… they’re cheering you on.
That first step is always the toughest. Not because the workouts are impossible—but because trying something new can feel uncomfortable.
But here’s what we’ve seen time and time again:
There’s no prerequisite fitness level.
No “getting in shape first.”
No perfect time.
Just a willingness to try.
If you’ve been on the fence, take this as your sign: you’re more ready than you think.
If you’re curious but still a little unsure, that’s completely normal. We’re here to help you take that first step in a way that feels comfortable.
